Agreed. Let's just hope that CCP gets the lag issue resolved before then though.

I am certainly looking forward to this...I can see a whole new direction for CCP to develop in, should be very cool to see.

I was ambivalent about ambulation originally but am looking forward to it now...gonna be really cool to see what kind of interactions CCP dishes up for us when that mechanic is implemented.

That "5% female" statistic seems somehow wrong, considering the frequency with which I run into women players in EVE. Maybe we're just automagically attracted to each other :) Good thing, cuz once amublation is here, it'll mean I won't have problems finding someone to go to the ladies room with me. You know how us girls are in that regard.

Increasing the female population makes sense if you're the developer, because you want to grow your user base, but I don't see why I -- as a player -- should give a damn what the population makeup is. I've never thought "gee, I wish this game had more women" or "I wish this game had less women". Frankly, I've never thought about it or cared. I just want to enjoy the game. Who is playing it is completely irrelevant to me.

You correctly stated "some of them feel it is a unnecessary mechanic and it will only slow down the servers", not only that, but this is a (waring-industry-marketing) game, not a "Space Sims" where we want to gather round a bar. I love the game as it is, no need to "walk in stations".
My two cents, but then again, I am the Bastard

Not being a computer whiz, my only take on this is: Being that the ambulation portion of the game is inside a station and unrelated to what the ships are doing outside, perhaps a separate dedicated node(s) will handle this aspect, thus not causing any lag to ship related gameplay. I hope it works out well, would like to see it happen.

CCP already stated this will not be on the same servers as the rest of EVE every time you exit your pod you will be passed off to another set of severs that do nothing but handle walking in station so it in theory it should add no extra server strain
