CCP and the "Growing Divide"...

Well, i must say.... everyone needs to call down. All I've been reading are posts and blogs about people complaining that CCP is out of touch with its player base. I must dis-agree, and here is why.

A. Faction War- 40,000 people signed up, and played it... now if CCP was out of touch, i seriously doubt 40,000 people would have thought it was cool and tried it out.

B. Game Development - CCP unlike a lot of developers, actually have shown that they care what their players think... CSM anyone...

C. 250,000 subscribers - Eve has 250,000ish subscribers. IF CPP was so out of tune with the player community then it would have no where near 250k.

All this talk about CCP being out of touch... its all BS. Its just the ramblings of old players that reminisce of the good old days, back when they actually could actually do -->Insert Whine Here <-- . What it all comes down to is people don't like change, and sadly CCP is the object that brings change, whether or not a certain player likes it. Change is a good thing, change brings new life to MMOs, without change EVE would have died 4 years ago...

So enough of this bickering, and whining. Seriously, if what they are changing or not changing for that matter, is really that big of a deal to you, then stop playing. But as long as you are playing, you are obviously enjoying yourself, cause if you weren't, you wouldn't be playing...

So stop worrying about the way it used to be, or the way it will be, and do what you came to EVE to do, PLAY THE GAME... let CCP deal with the semantics and the Nerfs, and what not. After all it is there job, and beleive it or not, its your job to PLAY, not DEVELOP.

That is all i have to say on the matter...

Review: Ok, first off, WDA is THE eve podcast. As of now there is no better eve podcast produced, and until recently it was fairly reliable. But in recent months a new podcast coming from WDA is more of a special thing, rather than a expected weekly update into eve. Urban and Blinky are funny as hell, and they get the news right and make it fun to listen to. I am a fan of WDA, my only complaint is in there recent lack of motivation, or whatever the reason may be... WDA seems to be slowly fading into memory.. hopefully they get back to buisness soon.

2. The Drone Bay:

Hosted By: Crovan, Crazy Kinux, Alsedrich

Review: TDB is one of my favorite podcasts period, not eve related, but podcasts in general. Crovan, CK, and Alsedrich are funny, and they put together a quality show, and recently its even been Live! But also as with WDA, recently its been kinda quiet from the guys over there. Overall, i think its alot of good planning, and awesome editing skills that go into this show... Cant wait for the next episode!

3. Titan Weekly:

Hosted by: Malnor Zerchan

Review: Well, TW started out kinda rough... and that's putting it lightly... But the quality of the show has increased ten fold with each episode. Malnor Gets into news right form the start, and his rants are great to listen too. Not only has this show increased in quality over the weeks, but it has also been very reliable. Malnor has posted a new episode each week without fail. Keep up the great work! I cant wait to get updated this week with episode #9.

4. Fly Reckless:

Review: I have only listened to a few of FR, but what i have heard was GREAT! Silicon is a fluent speaker, and has great audio quality. A great show All around! It was an interesting choice to do a whole show on Eve Tribune and Dev Blogs, but it works out, i enjoy it alot. Keep up the good work Silicon, and Remember everyone " Fly Reckless, because flying safe is just no damn fun!".

EVE Winter Expansion Codename : MIDAS

MMORPG.com recently sat down with EVE ONLINE Associate Producer Arend Stuhrmann and they talked about the Empyrean Age Expansion, Empyrean Age 1.1 and Empyrean Age 1.2. But that was all what you could have expected. BUT at about 4:19 into the video interview Arend drops the bomb, the EVE ONLINE Winter Expansion , Codenamed: MIDAS is quote "..All about Industry.."! This is something i personally have been waiting for, finally its industry's turn to "get the goodies" ( quote from Titan weekly EP#7 ). They didn't go into much detail on the winter expansion, and there was no mention of ambulation, so we can cross our fingers and hope that ambulation will be tossed in with MIDAS... Only the Gods over CCP know, and only time will tell.
